Our Goals

We are a 100% volunteer based organization. All of the donations go directly to helping the street dogs of the world. We rely on the help of the people who live local to these animals and have no paid employees.

Be an Advocate

Our Goals

Our goal is to help stray dogs in need. We support local street rescuers who love and care for the dogs in their local community, but do not have the resources to do so. We provide food, medicine, shelter and emergency vet care. We also support a number of shelters and rehome dogs in the US & Canada through our partner network.

We are always looking for compassionate people to help with our mission. We desperately need rescue partners, who can take street dogs into their programs as well as monthly sponsors and donors. We also need advocates who can bring awareness about the work we do.

DONATE

How you can help

Through donations and support we can provide food and veterinary treatment to the many neglected and abused street dogs, as well as provide vaccination, and spay and neuter clinics. We also help facilitate the re-homing of these dogs internationally through our rescue partner networks. We rely solely on donations, 100% of which goes directly to care for the stray dogs of the world. We take on the most severe cases that no one else wants and each animal becomes part of the SDS family. We also provide support to overcrowded and underfunded shelters in multiple countries and help with many other animals such as donkeys, horses, cats, foxes and rabbits. You can support us by donating here, or sponsoring one of our dogs through a monthly contribution or one time donation. Every dollar helps to save and change a life but we cannot do this without you.

Thank you.

Hi, I'm Violet!

I’m about 4 years old now and life is so much better since I survived being hit by a car and left for dead in Amritsar India.  It was all caught on CCTV and the car who hit me just drove off and left me there. The cameras even showed my mother racing to me - frantic not being able to help me. If not for some kind rescuers, I would not be here today.

I suffered from a severe leg injury, and I had to undergo a partial amputation but do not worry I can still run around and play like a normal dog. I may be shy when you first meet me, but I warm up quickly.

But as happy as I am to be here, what I really want is my very own home.

A family. Someone to see me and say, “That’s my sweet girl.”

Could it be you?

Together We Made a Difference: Reflecting on 2025

Together We Made a Difference

Dear Supporters

As we look back on 2025, we want to begin by saying a heartfelt thank you to all of our donors, supporters and partners. Your generosity and belief in our mission have made this another truly remarkable year for Stray Dog Support. Because of you, we have been able to launch new projects, save countless animals, support shelters in need and build meaningful new partnerships. None of this would have been possible without your continued commitment and we are excited to share some of this year’s highlights with you.

While 2025 has brought many successes, it has also come with challenges. As we move into 2026, our focus is on consolidation and sustainability—ensuring that the dogs currently in our care are living in more comfortable, secure environments. We are prioritizing infrastructure improvements by building out and upgrading the shelters and boarding facilities our dogs rely on, while also strengthening our strategic partnerships to ensure long-term impact and stability.

We are incredibly optimistic about what lies ahead in 2026, but we know we cannot do this work alone. We hope you will continue to stand with us as we move forward together. From everyone at Stray Dog Support, thank you for being part of our journey and we wish you and your loved ones a very Happy Holidays.

Regards

Elliot (previously known as Licorice) has had an incredible journey thanks to our Stray Dog Support followers and donors.

Elliot was one of the most horrifying cases of abuse we have seen, having found him in the streets with all of his limbs cut off, so defeated and barely hanging on. To see him thriving now and inspiring thousands of people is a true testament to the resilience of rescued dogs.

Since being rescued by our partner, Furever Rescue in Egypt, his rehabilitation and arriving in the US, Elliot has flourished. His new amazing mom, who runs a group called The Unstoppable Dogs, has certainly shown us that despite his own challenges, he is inspiring so many others.

Elliot has received his prosthetic legs, has been to numerous events and has made many appearances at local seniors' homes in addition to his visits with special needs children and adults.

In between his appearances, he goes swimming to help with his body conditioning, to get him more mobile and he continues to learn how to walk on his new legs. Elliot is truly a super hero, and he does all of this with grace and style.

Elliot's journey was not a quick one, as it took over a year to get him healthy and recovered enough to make his journey to the USA. This is why we need your support.

We encourage you to watch Elliot's journey below and consider becoming a monthly donor so that we can continue to help dogs like Elliot receive their second chance at life.
